Welcome to Engl. 1110-003
If you are reading this then you must have figured out how to navigate Blogger or somehow you came here by accident. Either way, welcome. Students, you need to become members of this blog - you do this by sending me an e-mail. Once you do that I will respond to your e-mail with an invitation to join blogger and you will need to either sign up for an account (it's free) or sign in to an account you already may have. After you sign up/sign in your just chose the blog you want to post to (English 1110-003) and then put up a post. You will all be expected to post at least once a week. Remember, your participation in this blog will be part of your grade. Aside from posting to this blog I want you all to interact with one another. The comment function is turned on so that you can reply to your classmates’ posts that way. Finally, when you are given a topic to write about you can reply one of two ways. You can create your own new post or you can have your post as a "comment." If you have any questions throughout this semester about blogs feel free to ask them. I will do my best to answer any and all questions (though I'm sure some of you know more about them than I do). You have creative freedom here so take advantage of it (especially if you know a lot about web design and such) but also be respectful of your classmates. For your first post I want you all to write an introduction about yourself. In the introduction tell the basic information (major, likes/dislikes) but also share other interesting things. Then I want you to write about your experience with the internet so far (do you use AIM from the time you wake up until the time you sleep? Do you make websites in your free time? etc). Be specific in your post.
The main point of your first post here is to get used to Blogger. Try different things (like fonts(<--that's fonts) and colors). This is your blog - get used to using it. Also feel free to post questions or thought provoking quotes and such to get conversations started.

Hmm. Well, technically, I did come here entirely by accident--but hey, that's fine. This seems like a nifty little page to look at. Hope you guys and gals don't mind a total stranger reading your material.
So, anyone up for discussing the theoretical mechanics of von Neumann machines in appliation to protein-based nanotechnology? (And anyone who actually knows those subjects will know I have no idea what I'm babbling about.)

Great Everyone! You all are doing wonderful with the blogging...even if you aren't sure what a blog is yet. I'm glad you all are starting to find common interests (aside from the huge group of pharmacy majors) - it will really help open the lines of communication online and in class I think and hopefully this will help you all get to know one another better so that your feel more comfortable in class. See you all tomorrow!
